What to Expect

Step one: Initial paper work

When you book your first appointment, we will send you a short health questionnaire in advance through our secure online booking system. This covers your medical history, current symptoms, and any previous injuries or treatments.

Completing this before you arrive means we can focus entirely on you from the moment you walk in. If you are unable to complete the form beforehand, do not worry. We can go through it together on the day.

Your first visit begins with a thorough one-to-one consultation. We take the time to understand not just your symptoms, but how your condition is affecting your day-to-day life, including your work, sleep, hobbies, and overall wellbeing.

We will discuss any previous injuries, significant health events, and how your occupation or lifestyle may have contributed to your current problem. This builds a complete clinical picture before any examination takes place.

We believe that understanding the person behind the problem is just as important as understanding the problem itself.

Following your consultation, we carry out a detailed examination of your spine, nervous system, joints, and muscles. Our aim is to identify the root cause of your condition, not just the symptoms you are experiencing.

The examination may include orthopaedic and neurological testing, postural assessment, and range of motion analysis, depending on your presentation. We explain what we are doing and why at every stage.

Where clinically appropriate, we use VALD, a world-leading 3D motion capture system used by professional sports organisations and healthcare providers globally. This technology allows us to objectively assess how your body moves and functions, removing guesswork from your care.

VALD gives us a clear baseline, helps us identify movement patterns contributing to your problem, and allows us to track your progress with precision over time. If this assessment is not relevant for your case, we will explain why.

Lasting results come from consistency. Before you leave, we will help you schedule your follow-up appointments at times that suit your routine. We outline your recommended care plan clearly, including the number of appointments suggested and the reasoning behind it.

We review your progress regularly and adjust your plan as needed. You are never locked in, and we encourage open communication throughout your care.

Cancellation policy

We would really appreciate if we could be given 24-hours notice for cancellation of an appointment, we understand life can be hectic and there may be occasions where booked appointments may no longer be convenient. By letting us know it means we can find a more suitable time for you to keep your treatment plan on track and offer other patients in need the chance to get in for their treatment session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the first appointment take?

Your initial consultation and examination typically takes between 45 minutes and one hour. Please allow enough time so the appointment does not feel rushed.

No. You can book directly with us without a referral from your GP. If you are currently under the care of a medical professional for your condition, it is worth letting them know you are seeking chiropractic assessment.

Not always. Your first appointment is primarily an assessment. Treatment usually begins at your results session once we have reviewed your case and discussed your options. Some patients do begin care during that same visit if they are ready to proceed and it is clinically appropriate.

Some patients experience mild soreness after their first few adjustments, similar to the feeling after exercise. This typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. We always explain what to expect before and after each treatment and encourage you to contact us if you have any concerns.

We most commonly treat back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, shoulder pain, and joint problems. We also work with patients dealing with posture-related issues, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal problems linked to occupation or lifestyle.

This varies depending on the nature and duration of your condition, your overall health, and how your body responds to care. We will give you a clear indication at your results session and review this regularly as your care progresses.

VALD is an advanced 3D motion capture system used by professional sports teams, hospitals, and rehabilitation clinics worldwide. We use it to objectively assess your movement and posture, giving us more accurate data to inform your care plan and measure your progress over time.

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. Depending on the area being assessed, you may be asked to remove an outer layer so the relevant area can be examined properly. We will always ask your permission and ensure your comfort throughout.

Yes. Free on-site parking is available directly outside The Stables at Melton Park, with additional parking a short two-minute walk away. The building also has lift access, making it accessible for patients with limited mobility.
